CBD Oil – Medicinal Possibilities?

CBD Oil

Industrial hemp (see photo) contains very little THC but a lot of CBD which has important medicinal qualities, perhaps greater than THC. CBD inhibits and balances the high of THC, it can therefore be used to help people with THC overdoses. In fact, a bottle of CBD oil should be available in every coffee shop as first aid for THC overdoses.

Medicinal Possibilities

CBD has many medicinal possibilities that in the future will be used in all kinds of new to develop medicines. A big advantage is that CBD does not cause a high, you can use as much as you want. There are also specific diseases for which there are no good synthetic medicines, such as epilepsy, where excellent results can be achieved with CBD.

Epilepsy

CBD is a muscle relaxant, acts antibiotically, inhibits or prevents the growth of cancer cells, protects and restores nerves, reduces blood sugar levels, stimulates the immune system, reduces pain, is soothing, and increases the medicinal efficacy of THC.

Coffeeshop Herbs

In commercial herbs (coffeeshop herbs), CBD occurs only in very low doses of 0.1 to 0.3%. The high THC levels in commercial herbs are meant to get you high and come at the expense of CBD production. Yet those low percentages of CBD already have a significant impact on the medicinal capabilities of mainstream herbs and (THC) herbal oil. By mixing the usual THC oil with CBD oil and then diluting it with olive oil, different blends are possible and better customization can be achieved.

Research has shown that THC combined with at least 25% CBD is most effective in fighting cancer

New possibilities! So now all oils can be made with this ideal THC/CBD ratio. Assuming this also frees cancer patients from the need to take 60 grams of herbal oil in 90 days as advised in ‘Run from the cure’. After all, the strain used contains hardly any CBD. For oil made from recreational herbs to have any effect, you need to take a lot of it which is inconvenient for patients and expensive.

General Information About Cannabinoids

Endocannabinoids are used by a body as signaling agents, they control all important processes, on the above disk you see a number of plant cannabinoids and their function and importance for the human body.

Herbs are the only plant that contains over 120 different phytocannabinoids, (phyto=plant).

These phytocannabinoids are very similar to endocannabinoids (endo=body), substances produced by the body of every living being. These phytocannabinoids are found in the resin that covers each hemp plant as a thin layer. The resin can be dissolved in alcohol, liquid CO2, or butane gas. When these solvents are evaporated, what remains is a thick oil containing the phytocannabinoids.

Conclusion

It is to be expected that in the near future more and more medicines will come on the market whose action is directed at the human endocannabinoid system. CBD-related medications will initially be the most common. But in nature, everything has a reason and I can imagine that each of the over 120 phytocannabinoids that are found has a specific effect on living beings. So there is still a lot to discover and a lot of medicinal applications imaginable with herbal-related medication!
