Effects and benefits of CBD

There is a lot of talk about CBD (hemp) oil, hemp and hemp, believing that they are all the same. However, they are not. CBD belongs to the cannabinoid group as does THC, which has a different chemical structure.

CBD oil is the most common presentation of cannabidiol, but there are also other types of CBD presentations, such as teas, creams and ointments, for cosmetic use. Nowadays, it is increasingly common to consume CBD oil for these purposes and to relieve stress and some pains.

What are the effects of CBD?

If THC is a psychoactive component, CBD has a sedative effect. On the other hand, it has already been shown to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. There are some studies that indicate that while THC causes psychotic effects, CBD has an anti-psychotic effect.

There have also been laboratory and animal studies on the great potential that CBD has on some types of cancer, since anti-tumor and anti-carcinogenic effects have been proven. However, studies in humans are still needed.

CBD has a great therapeutic potential that can help in treatments against Parkinson’s disease and also against insomnia and muscle spasms. The reality is that modern science has proven that CBD has palliative properties against various disorders, such as:

  • Fibromyalgia = this disorder characterized by chronic musculoskeletal pain of unknown origin, can be diminished by the use of CBD.
  • Multiple sclerosis = this disease causes neurodegenerative lesions in the central nervous system. The causes are unknown and the symptoms are various and depend on the area of the central nervous system affected. High levels of CBD can alleviate pain.

CBD oil is also used by healthy people looking to combat stress and anxiety. And those looking to ease aches and pains can use it not only in its oil form, but also as a tea, candy, ointment or cream.
