Elks Closing for Renovation/Restoration
The Elks Opera House will be closed beginning July 1, 2009 into February 2010 to get a beautiful facelift. Thanks to a Million Dollar Gift from the James family the Elks Opera House will get some much needed attention. Some of the work to be done includes restoring the box seats, Getting new seats in the house and restoring the beautiful tin ceiling, stenciling and plasterwork throughout the theater. Goals also include updating the gridwork on the stage, along with the lighting and sound equipment as well. We are looking forward to an even more beautiful Elks Opera House in 2010.
